Mary Elijah was an employee of Cy-Fair ISD for more than 30 years. In her career, she
served as a teacher of kindergarten and the Pre-School Program for Children with
Disabilities, as well as supervisor of Extended School Year (ESY) program for children
with special needs. Additionally, Ms. Elijah was an elementary school counselor for
more than 20 years.
Ms. Elijah has been in private practice counseling since 2000, and conducts a full
range of counseling services working with families, individuals, and adolescents.
Ms. Elijah is also a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) working with children ages 5
and up.
Ms. Elijah received a Bachelor of Education from University of Toledo in 1972, a
Master of Education in Counseling from Sam Houston State University in 1992, and
became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in 2000.
In 2005, Ms. Elijah received the Cy-Fair ISD Award for Extraordinary Leadership in
Professional Counseling. She is a proud member of the Sam Houston Association of
Play Therapy (SHAPT), the Texas Association of Play Therapy (TAPT), and Texas
Counseling Association (TCA).
